15th Anniversary Celebration

The Terrible Adult Chamber Orchestra (TACO) will celebrate its 15th anniversary on March 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the De Anza College Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) in Cupertino.

This special event will feature the world premiere of Shoreline to Skyline, the final orchestral work by the late, internationally renowned local composer Nancy Bloomer Deussen, commissioned specifically for TACO and conducted by TACO Conductor Cathy Humphers Smith. The documentary Silence to Sound will also premiere, offering an intimate look into Deussen’s creative process and the landscapes that inspired her music. Local environmental groups, including MidPeninsula Open Space, Green Foothills, and NASA, will be on-site to share information about these landscapes.

Guest musicians, including pianists Bob Sunshine and Ron Levy, will perform Deussen’s selected chamber works and the Central Coast Piano Concerto, conducted by Maestro Tony Quartuccio. A reception will follow the concert.

Join us in honoring Nancy’s music and the incredible community that TACO has fostered over the past 15 years. This is a unique opportunity to experience a new orchestral work and pay tribute to an extraordinary composer.
